"The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is located in North Central Texas, approximately 250 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. It is near the headwaters of the Trinity River, which lie in the upper margins of the Coastal Plain. The rolling hills in the area range from 500 to 800 feet in elevation.Winters are mild and periods of extreme cold that occasionally occur are short-lived, so that even in January mild weather occurs frequently.The highest temperatures of summer are associated with fair skies, westerly winds and low humidities. Precipitation varies considerably, ranging from less than 20 to more than 50 inches.Throughout the year, rainfall occurs more frequently during the night. Usually, periods of rainy weather last for only a day or two, and are followed by several days with fair skies. Snowfall is rare.The average length of the warm season (freeze-free period) in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is about 249 days. The average last occurrence of 32°F or below is mid March and the average first occurrence of 32°F or below is in late November." ~ National Weather Service

Transportation

Farmers Branch offers access to highways, airports, light rail, bus and beautiful streets and thoroughfares.  Our city is bounded by the Dallas North Tollway on the east, Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway (I-635) on the south, North Stemmons Freeway (I35) bisects Farmers Branch and the Bush Turnpike (Hwy 161) is accessible to the west.   Dallas Fort Worth International Airport  is only 20 minutes from the city center and Dallas Love Field Airport is 15 minutes away.  Farmers Branch Station provides light rail service from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system.   The DART light rail Green Line provides alternative commuter options, as well as a convenient way to explore area attractions and amenities.   DART also provides bus service linking the entire city to the light rail and other transportation hubs across the area.    Known as the City in a Park, businesses find the clean, well maintained streets and beautifully landscaped medians and sidewalks, provide a great impression to clients, partners, vendors and staff.
