The Police Department responds to all alarms in the City of Farmers Branch.
It is a violation of law, punishable by a fine of up to $200.00 for each day a violation exists, to operate an Alarm System without being permitted by the City. Permits are issued through the Alarm Permit Section of the Farmers Branch Police Department.
Dear Alarm Permit Holder,
In May of 2010 the City of Farmers Branch outsourced its alarm tracking and billing program to ATB Services based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a result of the outsourcing alarm permit holders were required to remit alarm permit and false alarm fees to ATB Services. Additionally, ATB provided customer support to alarm permit holders who had questions related to alarm tracking and billing services. After one year of evaluating the outsourced service, the City of Farmers Branch has decided to resume providing alarm tracking and billing services to our customers through a combined effort between the City’s Police Department and Finance Department.
All future inquiries related to alarm tracking and billing should be directed to the City of Farmers Branch. If you have a question related to an invoice for false alarms or alarm permits please contact City of Farmers Branch Finance Department at 972-919-2523. If you have any other questions regarding alarm tracking, false alarms, police response information or City Ordinance No. 2519 that regulates alarm systems in the City of Farmers Branch, please contact the Farmers Branch Police Department Records Division at 972-484-3620 or visit the City’s web site at www.farmersbranch.info.
Please be assured that this transition of services does not affect the police department’s response to alarm calls and has no impact on the communication between alarm monitoring companies and the Farmers Branch 911 Call Center. These vital functions were never considered as part of the outsourcing project.
We apologize for any inconvenience this transition may cause and we encourage you to call us should you have any questions that we can assist you with.
Chief of Police
