Where is the Parks and Recreation office located?

The Parks and Recreation Department is located on the second floor of the City Hall building at 13000 William Dodson Parkway, Farmers Branch, Texas.

Where is special event parking?

Parking for all special events held at the Historical Park (i.e., Independence Day, Halloween in the Park, Holiday in the Park, etc.) is at the Metro Square Business Park located at the corner of Ford Road and Christian Parkway. Handicapped parking is located at the corner of Denton Drive and Carrick Street. Shuttles are provided from the parking areas to the park entrance.

How much does it cost to go to a Farmers Branch special event (i.e., Independence Day, Halloween in the Park, Holiday in the Park, etc.)?

The majority of the City’s special events have free admission but occasionally there is a small fee and/or prior reservation required. For specific information, visit the Special Events page.

Do I need a license to fish in the parks?

Yes, per Texas Parks & Wildlife regulations.

Do you have walking trails and, if so, how long are they?

How much is the rental for Gussie pavilion?

There is a $100 deposit, and a $25 hourly rental fee with a minimum of four hours.

What are your office hours?

8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday.

Do you have to be a resident to rent the park?

Either residents or business owners within Farmers Branch can utilize park rental opportunities.

What are the rose beds on Valley View near City Hall about?

Those beds are an experimental National EarthKind Trial Rose Garden. EarthKind was developed by an Extension Specialist with Texas A&M University and seeks to maximize landscape impact while conserving water and minimizing the use of chemicals The beds offer opportunities for those who would like to volunteer to maintain specific beds. How many athletic fields does Farmers Branch have?

Farmers Branch has 19 game fields. There are five baseball fields, two youth softball fields, two adult softball fields, one football field and nine soccer fields. These fields are utilized by participants in City-sponsored athletic leagues for game play only. No practices are allowed on game fields.

What fields are available for rental?

Farmers Branch rents the two adult softball fields out to residents, businesses or churches located in Farmers Branch. The rental fee is $150 per field per day.

How do I obtain a practice field?

Practice fields are reserved for participants in City-sponsored athletic leagues. Please contact your league for access to the practice fields.
