What are the hours of operation?
The Historical Park is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Is there an admission?
Admission is free, donations are accepted and welcomed.
How do I get to the Park?
The Park is located at 2540 Farmers Branch Lane, between Denton Drive and Josey Lane.
When are tours available and what is available for viewing?
Tours are available during operating hours. Group tours are available by appointment. School tours are conducted on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please contact the Museum Educator at 972.919.8731 to schedule tours. Tours will include visiting historic structures that tell the history of Farmers Branch and North Texas. Structures include the 1856 Gilbert House, Log Culture Area, 1877 Depot with 1890s all-wooden caboose, 1885 Queen Anne Victorian Cottage, 1890s Old Church, 1900s School House, 1937 Dodson House and a service station modeled after a 1930s Farmers Branch Texaco gas station.
Is the Historical Park available for rental and/or photography?
Private rental activities that are consistent with the variety and beauty of the site are encouraged. The Historical Park is pleased to offer the 1890s Old Church, 1937 Dodson House, Gazebo/serving kitchen, and grounds which include the meadows and/or Rose Garden for the use and pleasure of those renting the facilities for events such as weddings, family reunions, meetings and commercial photo shoots. A card may be purchased for non-commercial photography. Please contact the Historical Park staff at 972.406.0184 for more information.
Are there volunteer opportunities available?
Yes, volunteer opportunities include tour guides, demonstrators, vintage baseball players, and assistants in the office, library, collections area and gardens/grounds maintenance. No experience necessary. Training and costuming provided. Volunteers must be willing to complete volunteer paperwork annually (including background check).
Are Historical Park memberships available?
Memberships are available for the Friends of the Farmers Branch Historical Park. The mission of the Friends is to provide financial and physical assistance to the Historical Park in order to help the Historical Park achieve its mission. Membership levels are: Pioneer $25; Agent $100; Lifetime $500.
Are pets welcome?
Leashed pets are welcomed at the Historical Park. However, only service animals will be allowed inside historic structures.
