The Historical Park is nestled on 27 acres that trace more than 165 years of proud Farmers Branch heritage.
The concept of the Historical Park came about in 1981 when the Mayor and City Council appointed the Historical Preservation and Restoration Board to spearhead the movement to develop an outdoor museum whose purpose would be to preserve and interpret the history of Texas and Peters Colony, with an emphasis on Farmers Branch. Since the park opened in 1986, the Historical Park has strived to preserve and share the heritage of North Texas and Farmers Branch. Welcoming approximately 50,000 visitors each year, the Historical Park offers many opportunities from tours and educational programs to special events and lectures.
The Historical Park is excited to announce a limited publication of the updated Farmers Branch Pictorial History Book. The new book will feature full color, an expanded history and an index. Be sure to get your copy before it's gone. Pre-paid orders will be available in September.
