The goal of this method of gardening is for all to be able to enjoy a beautiful, productive landscape that requires only minimal maintenance while providing maximum protection for the environment. This is accomplished by combining the best of organic and traditional gardening and landscaping techniques to create a new horticultural system for the 21st century.
In the EarthKind™ gardens there are no fertilizers or chemicals used. The beds are mulched with three inches of native tree chippings and water usage is minimal. While the Trial garden is native soil, the demonstration garden has well-prepared beds with both plant-derived finished compost and expanded shale for improved drainage.
