Local authors to gather for book signing

MANSKE LIBRARY ~ Drawing on the pool of literary talent from Farmers Branch and the surrounding area, the Farmers Branch Manske Library will host local authors and illustrators for a session of book signing and meeting with the public on Saturday, May 19 from 3 until 5 p.m.
Library Director Belinda Jacks said a similar event held earlier in the year was very popular.

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Cartoonist and artist Alan Stacy will present "The Creative Genius Within" at the Farmers Branch Manske Library, Monday, April 30 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The inspirational presentation will include information about Mr.Stacy's books and instruction on how to draw stories.
A television computer graphic artist and animator, Mr. Stacy has also worked in costume design, art direction and makeup artistry for music videos, corporate presentations, plays, films and more.

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Kicking off the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Farmers Branch Manske Library, the community is invited to a reception to officially “unveil” the library tables transformed into works of art, on Thursday, April 26 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Library.

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Helping friends out by forwarding them free concert tickets will mean backstage passes for one lucky Liberty Fest fan.
Subscribers to BRANCH BULLETIN, the City's free e-news magazine, will be receiving an email with an attached concert ticket. For every 25 forwards of that email, the subscriber will receive one entry into a drawing for reserved concert seating for four and meet and greet passes to meet Styx.
…Webb Chapel closed at LBJ this weekend

FARMERS BRANCH ~ Continuing the work on expanding and upgrading Interstate 635, Webb Chapel Road in Farmers Branch will be closed at LBJ most of the coming weekend for outside bridge demolition, according to LBJ Express, the group responsible for the five-year project.
The work is not expected to have an effect on the main lanes of LBJ as those lanes have already been rerouted from the area of demolition. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
