2012 Citizen Survey open through September 17

 

FARMERS BRANCH ~ As Autumn approaches, there is still time for Farmers Branch residents to participate in the 2012 Citizen Survey, going on through September 17.

The bi-annual survey is one of the most important measures of local resident satisfaction with Farmers Branch activities, events and services. More than 8,000 surveys were randomly mailed to Farmers Branch residences in mid-August but any resident is invited to take the survey online at www.farmersbranch.info.

UPDATE: Aerial spraying finished, for now

FARMERS BRANCH ~ In an effort to keep the public as completely informed as possible, the City of Farmers Branch has set up a special message on West Nile Virus and aerial spraying on AM radio at 1670 and by recorded message at 972.919.9868.

LBJ Express Weekly Update: August 22, 2012

FARMERS BRANCH ~ The weekly update on the Interstate 635 expansion project has been made available by LBJ Express, the construction team responsible for the five-year project that will completely renovate the freeway from the Dallas North Tollway to Interstate 35E. This update is for Wednesday, August 22, 2012.

 

Countdown: 1,213 days to project completion

Denton Drive: On August 27, Denton is scheduled to be closed between LBJ and Villa Creek for several weeks. Traffic will be detoured via Harry Hines and Ford.

Stars & Spokes bike race to benefit first responders

FARMERS BRANCH ~ In commemoration of the events of 9/11, Farmers Branch will again present the Stars & Spokes bike race, Saturday, September 8, benefiting Texas First Responders.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. with racing set to start at 8 at Farmers Branch Fire Station No. 3, 13303 Hutton Drive.

The USAC circuit race will feature multiple race categories on a smooth, flat, closed road course on the west side of Farmers Branch. 

Competitive cyclists will be competing for a total of $3,000 in cash prizes.

Time running out to offset Library fines with school supplies

MANSKE LIBRARY ~ School supplies can be your ticket to good standing with the Manske Library during the Library Amnesty Program, now through August 20.

For the two week period, fines for overdue Library items can be wiped out in exchange for a donation of new, unused school supplies to benefit Metrocrest Social Services and the local families that they serve.
