“The greatest thing about Farmers Branch is the people. They provide the heart of the city and foster that small town atmosphere even in the midst of the bustling metro area. People can have their cake and eat it, too - small town feel with big city amenities. Farmers Branch rocks!…”

FARMERS BRANCH ~ As a means of continually working to make recycling opportunities as good as can be, the Farmers Branch Public Works Department has announced the placement of carboard recycling containers at the Oran Good Park and Community Recreation Center drop-off recycling locations.

Cardboard recycling has been added by popular demand and joins the recently expanded list of recycling items accepted at the drop-off locations. That expanded list now includes number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 plastic bottles, shampoo bottles, etc.; all color of glass bottles (please remove lids); all metal food and beverage cans (please remove lids); newspaper, catalogs, magazines, junk mail and mixed household paper (please do not bundles or place in bags and no telephone books). As always, motor oil, toxic or hazardous waste containers cannot be accepted. Likewise, no plate glass, tissues, wet paper or paper contaminated with food should be placed in recycling.

All these recyclables can be dropped off at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center collection point, at Valwood and Heartside, and at the Oran Good Park collection point, located in the parking lot between Valley View Lane and Tom Field Road. Only paper can be dropped off at First Baptist Church, 13017 William Dodson Parkway, near City Hall, and at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 13605 Webb Chapel, across the street from the Manske Library.
