"How To" telescope clinic to kick off Star Party season Friday

HISTORICAL PARK ~ The first Star Party of the impending autumn season, on Friday, August 14, will feature not only the regular telescope viewing opportunities, but also a “How To” clinic earlier in the evening.

From 6 until 9 p.m., there will be a family picnic, solar observation and telescope clinic (bring your own telescope & picnic).

Then, from 9 to 11 p.m., high powered telescopes from the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Astronomical Society will be focused on Saturn, Neptune, summer constellations and other deep sky objects. The Farmers Branch Historical Park is located at 2540 Farmers Branch Lane. Best access is from Farmers Branch Lane off of Josey Lane or Tom Field Road as the Denton Drive railroad crossing is currently closed for DART construction.
