Farmers Branch plans grand opening for O-K Paper's new corporate headquarters

FARMERS BRANCH / May 10, 2013 ~ After announcing their relocation in the fourth quarter of 2012, CEO John Taylor and Olmsted-Kirk Paper Company is ready for the grand opening of their new corporate headquarters in Farmers Branch.

The Farmers Branch Economic Development Department will conduct the grand opening ceremony at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at O-K Paper’s new location, 1601 Valley View Lane.

Dallas County lists unofficial election results from Farmers Branch

FARMERS BRANCH ~ The Dallas County elections department has issued unofficial results in Saturday's city council elections in Farmers Branch.

According to the county elections website, in District 1 Ana Reyes received 319 votes while William Capener received 190 votes. In District 4, Kirk Connally received 313 votes while David Koch received 289 votes.

Results are unofficial until canvassed by the Farmers Branch City Council at their regularly scheduled meeting on May 21. The elected council members for Districts 1 and 4 will be sworn in at that time.

Aden Black wins Liberty Fest Singing Contest

Liberty Fest Facebook singing contest audition deadline EXTENDED

FARMERS BRANCH ~ In an effort to give all aspiring vocalists an opportunity to try out, the audition deadline for the 2013 Liberty Fest "God Bless America" singing contest has been extended to Monday, May 6 at 12 noon.

All singers should video record themselves singing the first verse of "God Bless America" and email the clip, or a link, to fbinfo@farmersbranch.info by that deadline.
